Power Problems Reported in Vestal
What appears to be a problem with a transformer in Vestal could cause some problems with the morning commute.
Emergency services officials were alerted to a number of business and residential alarms going off shortly after 3:30 a.m. and officials reported some New York State Electric and Gas equipment that looked to be sparking in the area of Plaza Drive.
NYSEG’s outage site reported areas like African Road, the Vestal Parkway and Vestal Parkway East, Rano Boulevard, Jensen Road and others were without power.
Service was projected to be restored by 7 a.m.
An unrelated problem was also affecting portions of Chenango County, including Norwich and the Town of Pharsalia. NYSEG was expecting power to be restored to 141 customers by 6:15 a.m.
