About the biggest change in Pennsylvania’s political landscape following primary elections under newly redrawn districts is the shattering of the old-boys’ network.

Pennsylvania could send at least three women to Congress next year, breaking the all-male hold on the House Delegation.

May Gay Scanlon’s victory in a 10-way Democratic primary and Madeliene Dean’s win in a 3-way Democratic primary for two suburban Philadelphia seats are widely believed to flip The House to the Democrats under the new district lines drawn to eliminate gerrymandering that had previously favored Republicans.

One of President Donald Trump's favored candidates, Lou Barletta moves on winning his U.S. Senate primary.  Congressman Barletta was heavily favored over Pennsylvania Representative Jim Christiniana to be the Republican's choice to challenge Democratic Senator Bob Casey, who is looking for a third term in November.

Also following primary voting, Governor Tom Wolf has a new running mate with Braddock Mayor John Fetterman defeating current Lieutenant Governor Mike Stack in the Democratic Primary. Stack has had a chilly relationship with the governor after Wolf ordered an investigation into Stack’s treatment of state employees.

Pennsylvania State Representative Rick Saccone can’t seem to get a break at the polls.  After the Republican lost a special election two months ago to Democrat Conor Lamb for one Congressional seat, he has now lost a bid for a different U.S. House seat in the new 14th District. Saccone was defeated in the primary by State Senator Guy Reschenthaler.
