Office Complex on West Endicott EJ Factory Site Nears Completion

Construction on a $5 million corporate office building in the town of Union is expected to be finished soon.

The facility being built for National Pipe and Plastics is located on property that had been home to an Endicott Johnson factory for several decades. The North Page Avenue site is across the street from West Endicott Park.

The 171,000-square-foot brick building that had been on the property was constructed in 1922. It was abandoned by the shoe manufacturing firm in 1987.

Although the structure was briefly used by small retail operations, it eventually became a neighborhood eyesore with vandalism and arson incidents.

National Pipe acquired the site from Broome County for $100,000. The old building was demolished in 2018.

The company plans to relocate its corporate offices from Vestal to the West Endicott complex. National Pipe officials did not return a call seeking comment on the timetable for the move.
