New York State Will Reportedly Scrap License Plate Plan

The talk of New York State lately has been the much-criticized plan by governor Andrew Cuomo for a new license plate plan, that was to be implemented starting next year.

However, according to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, the plan will not move forward as intended. The paper cites those within Cuomo's administration.

According to WIVB, plates that were 10 years or older would need to be replaced with the new license plate. When someone went to get their vehicle registration renewed, with a plate over 10 years old, they would need to pay an additional $25 for a new plate.

One college poll from Siena found the majority of New York State residents didn't like the plan and called it a money grab.

It was only two weeks ago that a new license plate design was announced after New York State residents voted between different designs.
