New York First State to Require Tampon Ingredient Labelling
New York state will become the first in the country to require ingredient labelling on boxes of tampons.
WIVB reports, "The law was signed Friday by Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who said menstrual products could contain toxic or allergy-causing chemicals unknown to consumers."
The law takes effect in 180 days, and manufacturers have 18 months to be fully compliant with packaging requirements, says WIVB.
