Broome and Tioga Report New COVID Deaths

Broome County reports its fifth death from COVID-19 since Friday, October 23.

A man in his 80s passed away, bringing Broome’s death toll to 94. There were 77 new cases reported October 26 for a total of 3,293. 548 of those cases are active.

Chenango County added 34 cases from October 23. Chenango has had 381 cases since the start of the pandemic. There were 17 new cases reported October 26 in Cortland County for a total of 796 and two new cases in Delaware County for a total of 157 positive instances of COVID-19 and nine deaths

There 43 new cases since October 24 in Tioga County with another death bringing Tioga County’s death toll to 31 residents and the total number of cases from the start of the pandemic to 613.

New York State reported 12 new deaths for a total of 25,742 fatalities from COVID-19. There were 1,191 new positive tests for the coronavirus. So far there have been 496,655 infections since March.
