Endicott police are looking for a man who forcibly stole prescription medications from a Rite Aid Pharmacy in the village.

Authorities say the robbery occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the store located at 100 East Main Street in the Union District.

Investigators say the man jumped over the pharmacy counter and took some promethazine/codeine, a liquid controlled substance. The robber then ran out the store's front entrance.

The man was last seen running south in the 300 block of Exchange Avenue.

Police say no injuries were reported in the robbery.

Detectives say the suspect was described as black, about six feet tall, between 20 and 30 years old with short black hair and a goatee. He was wearing gray or khaki pants, a white tee shirt over a a dark-colored shirt and a purple-colored baseball cap.

Investigators say the robbery may be linked to similar incidents at pharmacies around central and western New York.
