Man Sought After Ramming Vehicle at High-Speed in Johnson City
Johnson City police are trying to find a Chenango Bridge man who they say smashed a vehicle into another during a dispute with a woman.
Authorities said the suspect in Monday's incident is 28-year-old Clifford Harris. Detectives released a photo of Harris on Wednesday as they requested help from the public in locating him.
Investigators said police were called around 1 a.m. Monday for a reported domestic dispute involving Harris and a 21-year-old woman. The incident was occurring on Main Street near the Binghamton city line.
After the woman entered a vehicle to leave the area, Harris allegedly got into a another vehicle and backed it up "very erratically and at a high rate of speed."
Police said the vehicle Harris was driving struck the other vehicle. He then is said to have fled the scene. The vehicle was found abandoned on Endicott Avenue.
Harris is wanted on several charges in connection with Monday's dispute, including aggravated family offense and reckless endangerment. He also is wanted by the Broome County Sheriff's Office on charges of assault and unlawful imprisonment.
Police believe Harris most recently had been living on Kattelville Road in the town of Chenango.
