Man Charged After Rampage at Binghamton Weis Store
A Binghamton man who was armed with a large knife was arrested after he allegedly smashed a supermarket window and tried to stab several people.
Authorities say 26-year-old Ezequiel Garcia Reinaldo was charged with attempted assault after the bizarre behavior at the Weis store at 160 Robinsion Street.
Several police units were sent to the East Side business after multiple calls reported a knife-wielding man was running in nearby streets and parking lots. He also was said to have jumped on vehicles in the area.
When officers arrived at the Weis store, the man was found lying on a floor. He then was taken into custody and transported to Binghamton General Hospital to be evaluated.
In addition to second-degree attempted assault, Reinaldo also faces counts of second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Police reported no injuries to shoppers or store workers.
