Lester Avenue Closed by Johnson City Walmart

Johnson City Water Department officials say water main repairs are closing a portion of Lester Avenue June 23.

The street is closed from Pavilion Drive to CFJ Boulevard at the entrance to the Visions Credit Union and WalMart from 7 a.m. until 5 p./m.

Meanwhile, as construction continues on Wren Street in the Village, residents in that North Hills neighborhood that have Friday garbage pickup should make sure they have their trash and recycling out to the curb no later than 6 in the morning to make sure it can be picked up before construction resumes in the morning.

Residents particularly between Zoa Avenue and Jay Street, including those on Wren Street, should pay attention to getting their trash out on time as the Village Public Works crews will not come back to pick up refuse that was put out after 6 a.m.

The Public Works Department says, actually, all residents should make sure they have their trash and recyclables out by six in the morning on their collection day.
