Kevin Boles has been named as the manager of the Binghamton Rumble Ponies for the upcoming 2019 season.  Boles has close to 20 seasons of minor league managing experience and spent the past eleven seasons managing in the Boston Red Sox organization.  Baseball America named him the International League's Best Managerial Prospect in 2018.  He served as Boston's Triple-A manager at Pawtucket for five seasons and guided them to the Governor's Cup Championship in 2014 (International League).

Boles is quite familiar with the Eastern League and managed the Portland Sea Dogs from 2011-13.  The news was released this afternoon by the Rumble Ponies.  Besides his experience in the Red Sox organization, Boles worked with the Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins organization.

Boles was drafted out of the University of South Florida by the Chicago Cubs and played two seasons of professional baseball before turning to managing.  His father, John Boles, managed the Florida Marlins for four seasons in 1996 and 1999-2001.

Boles replaces Luis Rojas who was promoted to the New York Mets coaching staff.  Rojas will take over the role of Quality Control Coach.  The Rumble Ponies open their 2019 season on April 4 at New Hampshire.
