JC Grad One Game Away From Playing in the Super Bowl
This Sunday at 3, The Tennessee Titans will take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game with the winner going on to play in the Super Bowl. One of the players on the field will be Johnson City native, DaQuan Jones.
The 6-4, 322-pound defensive tackle graduated from Johnson City High School, and according to the Tennessee Titan website, he was rated the second best offensive lineman in the nation while playing for JC. Jones attended Penn State where he majored in criminal justice, and was selected by the Titans in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL draft.
Last year, Jones, who splits his time between Tennessee and Johnson City, started all 16 games for the third time in his six-year career, and finished with 39 tackles including four tackles for losses.
The Titan website also says that Jones is starting his own nonprofit organization called “Create Your Legacy”, and in June of 2019, he returned to Johnson City to host a football camp for more than 100 kids between the ages of 11 and 18.
So while I'm watching the game on CBS this Sunday, I will be rooting for number 90 of the Titans. How cool would it be for another Broome County resident to be on a Super Bowl winning team.
Good luck DaQuan, you have a lot of people in Broome County rooting for you.
