Johnson City Police still don’t have answers concerning the death of a man whose body was found last week in a wooded area near the high school on Columbia Drive.

Authorities say they still have not made a positive identification and autopsy results have been inconclusive in determining the cause of death.

Police say the test results, however, didn’t reveal anything suspicious. Toxicology tests are pending.

Johnson City public works crews filling potholes on Carpathian Hill late in the morning last Wednesday discovered the remains of what was believed to be a middle-aged man in an area northeast of the intersection of Fairview Street and Columbia Drive.

At the time, police said they believed they knew who the person was and that person had not been reported missing.
