Johnson City police say a man sustained a traumatic brain injury when he was assaulted outside his village residence.

Authorities say police Friday received a report of a man lying on the ground in front of a house on Endicott Avenue.

Officers found the 64-year-old man unresponsive on the sidewalk.

Medics with the Union Volunteer Emergency Squad treated the man and transported him to Wilson Medical Center.

Police say the man remains hospitalized. His condition was not released.
