Mobile Mammography Van to Stop In Owego, New York
To promote early detection of breast cancer, Tioga Opportunities Inc. is partnering with the Guthrie Lourdes Health System to host the Guthrie Lourdes "Mammo on the Move" Mobile Mammography Van.
The van will be stationed at Tioga Opportunities, Inc. Family Health Clinic, located at 110 Central Ave., Owego, on Thursday, February 29th from 9:00 am to 5:00pm.
The importance of regular breast cancer screenings cannot be emphasized enough. By detecting breast cancer early, lives can be saved. However, with today's busy schedules, finding the time for screenings can be a challenge. That's why the Guthrie Lourdes Health System is bringing its mobile mammography van to make the process quick and convenient for women in the community.
The Guthrie Lourdes Mobile Mammography Van will offer digital screening mammograms and education during its visit. Women who are 40 years of age or older, have no current breast problems or symptoms, have no history of breast surgery, or had a biopsy over one year ago with benign results and no further problems are eligible to utilize the van for breast screening.
One of the benefits of using the Guthrie Lourdes mobile van is that you do not have to be a patient of the Guthrie Lourdes Health System. Your screening results can be sent to the healthcare provider of your choice. Both insured and uninsured women are welcome, and no referral is needed to schedule an appointment.
To secure an appointment, simply call 607-798-5723. Additionally, if you are unsure about your eligibility for low- or no-cost screenings, the Cancer Services program can be reached at 607-778-3900 to assist you.
