According to Coventry, who took a look at Google Trends data over the past year for 23 dessert cocktails and the Nutty Irishman is the most popular among New York residents. Liquor.com and Delish reported that this sweet treat has won the hearts (and taste buds) of the Empire State.
What exactly is a Nutty Irishman? A mother and daughter teamed up one St. Patrick's Day and came up this concoction. People fell in love with it because it only needs a few ingredients and most people already have them in their house.
Nutty Irishman Cocktail Ingredients
To whip up your own Nutty Irishman, the website Delish says this is what you will need
2 cups of hot, strong coffee
2 ounces of Irish cream liqueur, divided
2 ounces of hazelnut liqueur, divided
2 ounces of Irish whiskey, divided
¼ cup of whipped cream
2 pinches of ground nutmeg
Pour the hot, strong coffee into two cups. Stir 1 ounce of Irish cream liqueur, 1 ounce of hazelnut liqueur, and 1 ounce of Irish whiskey into each mug. Top it off by putting some whipped cream on top of the drink in each mug and sprinkle some nutmeg on top if you want to be extra fancy.
