Cincinnati Bengals Promote Cortland, New York Native to Offensive Coordinator
In an exciting move for both the Cincinnati Bengals and Upstate New York, Dan Pitcher, a native of Cortland, has been promoted to the position of Offensive Coordinator with the team.
Pitcher's promotion comes as the team looks to improve its offensive strategy and maximize its potential on the field.
A Local Cortland Hero
Pitcher was born in Cortland, NY on January 13th, 1987. He played as the QB for SUNY Cortland from 2008 to 2011. After that, he graduated from Cortland State with a bachelor's degree in psychology in 2010 and then went on to earn a master's degree in sport management in 2011.
Once Pitcher's playing days were over, he worked as an assistant coach at Cortland for a year before making a move to the big leagues. He took on roles as a Scouting Assistant and later as a Pro Scout for the Indianapolis Colts from 2012 to 2015.
Pitcher's Journey
Pitcher's journey to becoming the Offensive Coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals has been a long one. He joined the Bengals organization in 2016 as an offensive assistant. Pitcher played a major part in Joe Burrow's success by helping him achieve one of the most impressive starts to a QB career in NFL history.
A New Chapter: Offensive Coordinator
Pitcher will play a big role in shaping and carrying out the team's offensive strategy. He will work closely with the head coach and be responsible for coming up with game plans that put the Bengals in the best position to win.
Impact on the Bengals
Pitcher's knowledge of the organization and its players hopefully means a smooth transition in making his vision for the Bengals' offense come true.
