UPDATE: The Broome County Sheriff's Office reports the suspect is in custody but has not released any further information regarding the homicide investigation.

Original Story: The Broome County Sheriff's Office reports that officers are actively searching the area near Route 41 in the Town of Colesville for 26-year-old Patrick Daniel Proefriedt of Nineveh, New York in relation to a homicide investigation.

Broome County Sheriff's officers say that Proefriedt could be traveling by foot or may be driving a 2016 Dodge Ram pickup truck in the color red with a license plate of 34755ND.

If you have any information about the whereabouts of Patrick Profriedt, you are asked to immediately call Broome County Sheriff’s Dispatch at 607-778-1911 ext. 1 or 9-1-1.
