Binghamton Rumble Ponies GM, John “JB” Bayne, Steps Down
In a surprising turn of events, John "JB" Bayne has announced his departure as the General Manager of the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets. The news came as a shock to fans and team members alike, as Bayne has played a significant role in elevating professional baseball in Binghamton.
"We are incredibly grateful for JB's valuable contributions throughout the years," said David Sobotka, President of the Binghamton Rumble Ponies in a statement. "His dedication and hard work have been instrumental in the success of our team, and we wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors."
Taking over the reins for Bayne (at least on an interim basis) is Richard Tylicki. He is a familiar face in the club's front office and has been part of the organization for a long time,
Tylicki brings a wealth of experience and expertise and his appointment as Acting General Manager will give needed stability during the transition period. The team will begin a search for a permanent successor to Bayne.
The Rumble Ponies had a successful 2023 season by finishing as the Eastern League Championship runners-up. They 2024 season is less then 5 months away with their first game scheduled for April 5, 2024. The Ponies will take on the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Mirabito Stadium and fans can't wait to see the team build on last year's success.
