Binghamton Tops the List of Most Bedbug Worried New York Cities
Did you know that bedbugs have been causing quite a problem in the United States? In fact, there have been almost over 7.5 million Google searches about those pesky critters in the past year alone! I feel itchy just thinking about this.
The thing about bedbugs is that once you've gotten them, they can be very hard to get rid of. It can be done but it's easier if we don't have them to begin with. So the people at MattressNextDay wanted to find out the worst states for bedbugs.
When it comes to bedbugs, New York might not be the first state that comes to mind. But get this, the Empire State ranks 36th when it comes to bedbug concerns across the nation.
MattressNextDay took a deeper look into their data and they found the top 15 cities in New York that are most likely to deal with bedbug issues in 2024. How did they determine this? Well, they looked at the number of Google searches for every 10,000 residents in every city.
Binghamton Tops Bedbug Search List
At the top of the New York list is Binghamton, with 838 searches per month for every 10,000 residents. Looks like the people of the Parlor City are really itching to find a solution to the problem of bedbugs. Coming in close behind are Niagara Falls and Buffalo with 806 and 727 searches.
It seems like those places are no strangers to the bedbug blues either. It's not just those cities that made the cut. Syracuse, Troy, Schenectady - they all made it onto the list too.
