American Pickers In Owego Airs July 12th On The History Channel
My wife and I watch completely different television shows. We used to have the same interest in several television shows, but as we've aged, I guess each of our tastes have gone their separate ways.
Hers, more to the educational, learning, history, antiques and human interest side of television programming, and mine, more to the reality, and check your brain at the door type programming. If you know each of us, you'd understand why.
But, there are a few shows that my wife enjoys, and I don't mind watching as well. It's a short list, but three of them include Pawn Stars, Storage Wars and American Pickers, featured on the History Channel. I really enjoy watching Mike Wolfe, Danielle Colby and Robbie Wolfe dig through private homes, barns and properties, looking for that one of a kind find.
The cast and crew of American Pickers travel throughout the United States in search of items to add to their collection and/or sell. I love watching some of the really interesting items thy uncover. Roadside and business signs of the past are my favorites.
American Pickers have been no strangers to the Southern Tier of New York, having spent some time here back in 2014 when they stopped in at Showtime Costumes on Main Street Binghamton along with a local barn filled with treasures.
According to the Sayre, Pa Morning-Times newspaper, American Pickers were spotted in the Owego and Apalachin area in November of 2022. The article notes that an episode was filmed and it will be in part of the show that airs on Wednesday July 12th at 9 pm, which according to the description on the Spectrum channel guide, also features the team in New York City as well.
It will be interested to see what items caught Mike's eye during his visit to the Southern Tier and what he walks away with. Happy antiques hunting!
