Today is the day that the Buffalo Bills report to St. John Fisher University in Rochester. The first training camp practice is tomorrow morning.

The Bills were dealt some bad news this past weekend, when it was learned that running back and primary kickoff returner Nyheim Hines suffered a knee injury after a jet boat accident, which will require surgery this week.

The Bills will be fine at running back, barring the backs they have stay healthy: James Cook, Damien Harris, Latavius Murray. Although, one more injury would make that a backfield that feels less than satisfactory.

That's why the Bills decided to make a move or two on Monday.

Aaron Wilson reports the Bills have signed both running back Darryton Evans and tight end Jace Sternberger.

Evans is a former third round pick for the Tennessee Titans in 2020. He was thought to be a future primary backup for Derrick Henry but was waived in 2022.

Sternberger was a third round pick of the Green Bay Packers in 2019 but only caught 12 passes in three NFL seasons, before playing in the USFL this year, where he impressed enough to be worked out and signed by the Bills.

Evans will have a chance to make the 53-man roster, while Sternberger will likely battle Quintin Morris for the third tight end spot, behind Dawson Knox and Dalton Kincaid.

The Bills will have their first preseason game on Saturday, August 12th against the Indianapolis Colts at Highmark Stadium. We're less than three weeks away from game action.
