There have apparently been no recent threats against Jewish community organizations in the Southern Tier while reports of other incidents around New York are on the increase.

Governor Andrew Cuomo went to the Jewish Community Center in Albany February 23 after the building had been swept by police and cleared  as a result of an anonymous emailed threat.

Cuomo told reporters there had been email threats against 18 other JCCs and 42 incidents of anti-Semitism in New York State just in the first few weeks of 2020.

The Democrat said, however, the issue is not just with anti-Semitism. He said "The number of  anti-African American attacks is up, the number of KKK groups and activity is up."

Cuomo says in spite of increasing incidents, every report is being taken very seriously by authorities.

The Governor declined to identify what other JCCs had been named in the email threats that were received by authorities at around 11:30 a.m.
