“Frito Feet”: Why Dog Paws Smell Like Corn Chips
Some dog owners would never do it, but some of us have done the smell test. I'll admit, I did it.
Yep, my dog Xena's feet do smell like Fritos and your dogs probably do too.
The Spruce Pets on-line site has these answers,
The corn chips smell is usually caused by bacteria that are completely natural yet give off a kind of yeasty odor, particularly the bacteria Proteus or Pseudomonas. Or that corn chips smell could just be your dog’s natural odor. In either case, relax; it's normal.
Now the question might be, is it normal that some of us humans actually smelled our dogs feet? Ha!
