Drive-Thru Coronvirus Testing Coming to Broome County
Broome County is expected to have a COVID-19 drive-thru testing site by the end of the week.
Governor Andrew Cuomo Monday said new testing facilities will be opening in five upstate counties.
In addition to Broome, drive-thru sites are to be set up in Oneida, Monroe, Erie and Niagara counties.
During his daily coronavirus briefing in Albany, Cuomo did not provide specific information on when or where the additional testing will be offered.
Appointments will be required for those who wish to use the drive-thru testing services. The number to call to make an appointment is (888) 364-3065.
Information about the Broome County site is expected to be announced soon.
Broome County officials have reported 17 coronavirus deaths. They say previous testing has revealed at least 259 COVID-19 cases in the county. There now are 125 active cases with 117 people reported as having recovered.
