Drake Surprises Fans With ‘Scary Hours’ EP
Since releasing his More Life playlist in March, Drake has remained pretty quiet when it comes to new music but that changed on Friday night (Jan. 19), when the rapper dropped a surprise two-song EP.
Titled Scary Hours, the two-song project features the tracks "God's Plan" and Diplomatic Immunity." Produced by Cardo, Boi-1da and Yex, "God's Plan" is an uptempo track that finds Drizzy discussing his future.
"God's plan, God's plan/I hold back, sometimes I won't (yeah)/I feel good, sometimes I don't (ayy, don't)," Drake raps during the chorus. "Bad things/It's a lot of bad things/That they wishin' and wishin' and wishin' and wishin'/They wishin' on me."
While Drake appears to be in a joyous mood on "God's Plan," "Diplomatic Immunity" finds Drizzy getting back to his bragging ways, listing off all of the things his status has awarded him.
"Booked a private room at Wylie's, waiter twistin' the cork/I got multi-colored rings like the Olympics, of course/At award shows, cuttin' through the tension, of course/Girls huggin' me then askin' me, "what scent that is, boy?" he raps.
Drake's two new songs follow the end of a successful 2017 which saw the rapper score nine of Pandora's most-like tracks. The rapper led all other artists with nine songs in the top 100, including tracks like "Fake Love" and "Passionfruit."
The rapper also found himself on Spotify's 2017 Most-Streamed List, joining The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar and The Chainsmokers.
