If you've got a soft spot in your heart for pups, you won't want to miss the second annual 'Dogapalooza' on Sunday, August 28th in Vestal.

Dogapalooza is a dog friendly festival which brings dogs and their owners together to raise funds for animal rescue organizations. Dogapalooza hopes to support and bring awareness to the rescue and adoption of dogs.

Mary Gates, Fitness Supervisor at the JCC says, "Wellness, adoption, awareness and love is the message we want to bring to the community." Gates adopted a dog named Stella from a puppy mill and since then, she's fought for rescue efforts.

Dogapalooza is open to the community and their dogs and will be held on the outdoor grounds of the JCC, 500 Clubhouse Road in Vestal from 12pm-4pm on August 28th. There will be a kids area, a 'stuffed dog' adoption center. There will also be dog and owner contests, information on local shelters and rescue organizations, animals for adoption, wellness demos and so much more.

According to a press statement, portions of the proceeds will benefit the following, "The Broome County Humane Society, Every Dogs Dream Adoption, Hubbards Hounds Dog Rescue, Southern Tier Animal Rescue and Pibbles & More Animal Rescue."  If you're not able to attend Dogapalooza, but want to make a donation, you can reach out to Mary Gates at 607-724-2417.
