Which Video Just Passed ‘See You Again’ as Most-Viewed of All Time?
Victory was sweet but short for Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth, whose "See You Again" became the most-viewed video ever on YouTube last month — there's a new No. 1 in town.
On the heels of its massive radio success, "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee is officially the most-viewed production ever on YouTube. Released in January, the video is also the first to cross the three-billion views mark and has accrued the most thumbs-up.
"See You Again," the most popular release from the Fate of the Furious soundtrack, dethroned "Gangnam Style" for the distinction of most-viewed in July. "Gangnam" had occupied the spot for nearly five years after dethroning Justin Bieber's "Baby."
“I’m super excited and grateful to everyone who supported the song and video on YouTube, and happy to inspire and impact so many lives,” Khalifa said in a statement. And Puth echoed the sentiment.
“I remember when I signed up for YouTube in 2007 and had hopes of uploading a video and it reaching 10,000 views,” he said. “Now a decade later, it feels incredible to be a part of the most-viewed video on YouTube.”
