The president of Davis College in Johnson City is preparing to step down from the post he's held for nearly a decade.

The college announced on Monday that Dr. Dino Pedrone will complete his service as president on January 15.

The board of trustees of the Bible college announced that Pedrone will become the school's first chancellor. In that role, he is expected to travel on behalf of the college. He also is to preach and teach at various churches and conferences.

Dr. George Snyder has been selected by the board to serve as interim president. He has served Davis College since 1997 in teaching and administrative roles.

The board of trustees has started a search for the next president of the college.

The main Davis College campus is located off Riverside Drive, a short distance east of Route 201.
