Health Departments around the region are urging residents who are taking advantage of home testing to make sure they report any positive test results to their local officials in order to not only keep track of the progress of the pandemic but to also get the services and support needed in isolation and recovery.  Those officials, however, say it may be days before an employee is able to get ahold of people for contact tracing due to the huge number of new cases and staff shortages.  Even if you are not contacted, you are urged to self-isolate for at least ten days from exhibiting symptoms or if you haven’t shown symptoms but test positive: ten days from that positive result.

Everyone is encouraged to wear masks in public.  A New York State mandate requires masks to be worn in all businesses at least into next month.
