Check Your House for Dog Treats Recalled for Salmonella Risk To Dogs and Humans
I have four big dogs and I'm always on the lookout for dog food or dog treat recalls that could make my dogs sick. Unfortunately, there was another pet product recall announced today.
There is a voluntary recall of dog treats that might be in your house right now. They could be contaminated with Salmonella and could make your dog and even humans sick just from handling them.
If you bought any pig ear treats for your dog from Amazon anytime from April through August you need to check them and possibly throw them out. In a statement from TDBBS, the company that sells the treats, on the FDA website explains which treats are being recalled.
“As a strictly precautionary measure and because of our company’s strong commitment to the health and well-being of pets, TDBBS is conducting a voluntary recall of a limited distribution of two pig ear pet treat products sold through Amazon.com - USA Thick Pig Ear 8 Pack and USA Thick Pig Ear 20 Pack."
Currently no illnesses have been reported, but disposing of the treats is the safest option.
