As I've said before I don't think our country does enough to show our appreciation for our veterans. It is definitely moving in the right direction, but when you think of the sacrifices these men and women have made for us, I think we could do a better job of saying thank you.

When veterans return from their service obligations a lot of them have a hard time getting back into the workforce. There is going to be a new facility to help local service men and women with that issue, as well as many other issues, in Broome County.

According to WBNG TV, there will be a new facility that will help our Local Heroes with a lot of the challenges they face as they return to civilian life.

According to WBNG, by the year 2020, there should be a new Broome County Veterans Complex being built with funds from The Regional Economic Development Council in Albany. There will also be some housing available at the new facilities to help those coming back from deployment who need a place to stay.

There has been some talk of the facility being placed in Conklin. WBNG asked Broome County ExecutiveJason Garnar where exactly the facility will end up, and he told them that they will make a final decision in about a month or so.

The new veterans facility is also expected to bring new jobs to the area.
