One of Binghamton's most historic buildings is again open to the public with steps being taken to address COVID-19 concerns.
The Phelps Mansion Museum has started to schedule tours after a lengthy suspension because of the pandemic.
The building at 191 Court Street - next door to the Broome County Public Library - is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Museum executive director Toby Manker said planned events and outreach activities, including school tours, were canceled for the last few months.
Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, Manker said tours now are being booked for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Participants and guides must wear masks wear masks and observe appropriate distancing during tours.
Tours are scheduled to allow for cleaning to be done between groups of visitors.
People interested in making tour reservations may call (607) 722-4873 or visit the museum website phelpsmansion.org.
