Binghamton’s LUMA Projection Festival Expands
The LUMA Festival that transforms downtown Binghamton buildings into moving works of art is taking a big leap forward.
The event that projects moving images, coordinated with music onto the facades is to be held over three days this year and feature a return of the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra.
The festival is set for the evenings of September 7, 8 and 9.
Designs and locations of the displays change each year and organizers say they are always striving to make the experience bigger and better.
The multi-media festival began in 2015 and draws thousands of people to the downtown district for the event with crowds some years counted at more than 20,000.
The individual displays are on a loop so spectators can take their time strolling from building to building to catch each unique mini-show through the evening.
