Binghamton University students are returning to their "second home" in Broome County and many living off-campus will find even more limited parking downtown.  Few available parking spots are left at the State Street Parking ramp, accessible only to those possessing gate cards, as the rest of the ramp is being repaired.  That work appears to be far from completion.

Activity around the Vestal campus is brisk as about 2,660 freshmen move in and need to furnish dorm rooms.

The University says in addition to thousands of freshmen, 1,076 transfer students have been accepted and 1,360 graduate students are attending BU.

Classes begin for the roughly 17,500 students on August 23.

Binghamton’s new School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is to hold its first White Coat Ceremony, marking students’ transition from pre-clinical to clinical studies on September 9th.

The new pharmacy school in Johnson City is still under construction.

Every year, students and visitors at the University pump millions of dollars into the local economy.
