Binghamton South Side Residents to Host Summer Celebration Event
Live musical performances will be featured at a special event planned for this weekend on the South Side of Binghamton.
"Southside Saturday" is sponsored by the Southside Neighborhood Assembly in partnership with the city Parks and Recreation Department.
Bob Greaves, one of the event organizers, said it will be held on Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Southside Commons at 45 South Washington Street.
Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, Greaves said a committee has been formed in an effort to encourage greater use of the park.
Greaves said Anonymous Blonde and Under the Rug will provide musical entertainment at Saturday's event.
Greaves said other types of entertainment might be featured at future events.
Although the program on Saturday afternoon has been organized by the South Side group, the event is open to everyone. Those who attend are encouraged to bring a chair if they'd like to sit down during the event.
