Binghamton Man Indicted for JC Walmart Robbery

The suspect in an attack on a Johnson City Walmart employee during a robbery has been indicted on six felony charges.

Prosecutors say 20-year-old Davon Dozier-Gannaway of Binghamton was named in an indictment handed up by a Broome County grand jury.

According to the district attorney's office, Dozier-Gannaway faces two counts of robbery and three counts of burglary in connection with the January 24 incident at the Walmart store on Gannett Drive. He also was indicted on a charge of criminal possession of a weapon.

The indictment alleges Dozier-Gannaway forcibly stole property and "used or threatened the immediate use of a dangerous instrument."

Johnson City police have said the suspect wielded a pair of scissors during the incident to threaten a worker. The man then was said to have injured another employee by punching him in the face.

Dozier-Gannaway was taken into custody by Binghamton police a short distance from the Johnson City store.
