One of the region's biggest collegiate wrestling events will be happening this Friday and Saturday at Binghamton University.  The 115th EIWA will be hosted by the Bearcats for the first time.  The EIWA is comprised of 16 schools and is the largest and oldest wrestling conference in the nation.

Competion gets underway on Friday morning and will conclude on Saturday afternoon. Binghamton University finished 8-3 in the EIWA conference and won ten consecutive dual matches.  The ten consecutive wins has established a new program record.

The Bearcats are coached by Kyle Borshoff who is in his second season at the helm.  Last year in the EIWA tournament the Bearcats finished seventh as a team and had five first-place winners.  Last year BU had two NCAA qualifiers including Redshirt Junior Frankie Garcia competing in the 149 pound weight class.

Two Bearcats who are expected to do well are Lou DePrez at 184 pounds and Anthony Sparacio weighing in at 141 pounds.  DePrez finished his regular season with a record of 26-4  and was undefeated in the the dual season going 11-0.  Sparacio wrestled at 141 pounds and compiled an overall record of 24-9 and 12-1 in dual matches.
