Binghamton-Area Residents Being Prepped for Film Production Jobs
With a couple of movie shoots expected to get underway in Broome County in the coming weeks, efforts are underway to line up skilled people to help out.
The Visit Binghamton Film Office has been working with a studio mechanics union to help area residents prepare for possible job opportunities with local productions.
Kelly Fancher, who oversees the film office, said the goal is to get people into the union and to get them trained so they are able to work when opportunities become available.
A seminar was held recently at SUNY Broome Community College to provide those who are interested in the technical side of the industry with an overview from professionals.
