The Binghamton Bearcats closed out their regular season on Sunday afternoon at the Chase Family Arena in West Hartford with a 61-45 loss to the Hartford Hawks.  The Bearcats were playing without starting point guard Kai Moon who left Thursday night's game against Albany with an ankle injury.  She did not see any action in the Hartford game.

With Moon out the Bearcats were plagued with turnovers...26 in all and struggled to get the offense to jell.  Imani Watkins scored 14 points for the Bearcats, six points under her season average.  She was the only Bearcat in double figures.

The the loss to Hartford Binghamton closes the regular season at 19-10 overall and 10-6 in America East.  Binghamton splits the series with Hartford after topping the Hawks at the Events Center 64-50 on January 13th.  The Hawks conclude regular season play with an overall record of 17-12 and 9-7 in America East.

The Bearcats end the regular season in a tie for third place with Stony Brook. Each team is 10-6 in conference play.  The teams split their two-game series with each team winning at home.  America East had to wait to see the final RPI standings to determine which team earns the third seed.  Shortly before 9 PM  Sunday America East announced that Binghamton has earned the third seed.  That means the Bearcats will meet Hartford, the sixth seed in a quarterfinal round game on Saturday night at 8:15 in Portland, Maine.  Jonny Wincott has the call on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
