The Associated Press reports the University at Albany is going to remote learning and Syracuse University will do the same next week.

They are the latest colleges to switch to online classes as COVID-19 cases surge around New York.

Syracuse University on November 9 said it would immediately suspend all in-person events sponsored by school and move classes online next week.

Separately, SUNY Albany president Havidán Rodríguez said the school would switch to remote learning for the rest of the semester because of a spike in cases.

After a two-week pause due to rising coronavirus cases in Broome County last month, Binghamton University has been able to hold the line on infections among the B.U. community.  According to the SUNY COVID Tracer, Binghamton University has recorded 238 cases to date.  There were 11 positive tests for the coronavirus in the past three days, 32 in the past 7 days and 49 in the past 14 days.

Along those lines, SUNY Cortland, that had been a big trouble-spot in the SUNY system, is keeping new infections steady.  Cortland has had 307 cases to-date with 12 positive tests in the past three days, 37 for seven days and 64 in the past 14 days.
