Arrangements Announced for Binghamton Girl Hit by Vehicle
The family of Harper Stantz, the Binghamton High School junior who died after being struck by a vehicle, is thanking the community for its support in the aftermath of the tragedy.
The 16-year-old girl was hit by a Jeep Monday as she walked with 19-year-old Britney Laserinko on Beethoven Street. The operator of the vehicle has been accused of driving while impaired by drugs.
In her obituary, Harper Stantz's family expressed gratitude for the support they've received. They also asked people to "continue to keep Britney in your prayers." Laserinko is being treated for serious injuries at a Syracuse hospital.
A funeral Mass for Harper Stantz will be offered at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Binghamton at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The family will receive friends at the church on Highland Avenue from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday.
