At some point in your life, you may have gone to an extreme just to get your hands on your favorite fast food. But whatever you did, probably wasn't as extreme as what students from RPI did just to get their hands on some Chick-fil-A.

According to News 10 Albany, members of the cross-country track and field team from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, located in Troy New York just outside of Albany, had a hankering for Chick-fil-A food.

The closest Chick-fil-A restaurant to Albany is about 90 minutes away. The members of the team were debating making the long drive just to get their fix, when one of them mentioned that there is a Chick-fil-A restaurant inside the Albany International Airport.

The only problem with getting to that Chick-fil-A is that the restaurant is located on the other side of security. That means the only people that can visit that restaurant are people that have airline tickets. So they came up with the idea of buying the cheapest airline ticket that they could find.

It turns out they bought a one-way ticket to Fort Lauderdale which costs $98. They split the cost of the airline ticket evenly with everyone that wanted lunch. It cost each member of the team $5.50.

The captain of the team, Vincent Petrino who is a senior at RPI, had the ticket put in his name and made his way to the airport. Once he went through the TSA security checkpoint, he made his way to the restaurant to buy Chick-fil-A food For 18 people including himself.

The total cost of the food came to just over $227. According to the report, Petrino walked out of the airport with 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches and large fries,  a bag of cookies, 156 nuggets, and one lemonade.

If this article doesn't show Chick-fil-A that we need more Chick-fil-A's in Upstate New York, I don't know what will. I think they would make a fortune putting one on the Vestal Parkway somewhere between Binghamton University and Vestal High School.
