Twilight, the series about vampire Edward and his human paramour Bella, was a phenomenon when it was first released in 2008 in movie form. The Twilight Saga - 4 films - grossed over $3.3 billion worldwide. The books have sold over 100 million copies.

It was Twilight, in fact, that gave rise to '50 Shades of Gray'. Those novels started life as Twilight fan fiction.

Stephenie Meyer announced another novel, 'Midnight Sun', is coming on August 4. "The new book will mirror the events of the first installment in the epic love saga, but told from the perspective of the male protagonist, Edward Cullen," reports Entertainment Weekly.

Stephenie says she wasn't sure if this was the right time to release the novel - in the midst of a global pandemic, but we say HELL yes it is.

What better time for a little escapism than right now? Who wouldn't rather think of things like glittery vegetarian vampires rather than face the reality of home-schooling, tight finances, and facemasks?

I may be a 40-something grown-up woman, but you will find me with my new Twilight novel and a glass of wine on August 4th, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Here's another confession: when Twilight first came out in theaters, I went to see it at Marquee Cinemas no less than 10 times, and that was before they had the fancy chairs. Take my money, Stephenie.
