Zayn Malik One Ups Hackers, Drops Unheard Remix to August Alsina’s ‘Don’t Matter’
Zayn Malik laughed his way to the top of Twitter's trending spot last night.
Beset by hackers, the "Dusk Till Dawn" singer dropped a never-before-heard remix to R&B hitmaker August Alsina's original 2017 bedroom banger "Don't Matter," on which the 23-year-old singer offers his vocals.
In the wake of its bittersweet surprise, Malik opted to make the unearthed collaboration open to the public free of charge due to its unplanned arrival.
"This was not a song I intended to put out, but due to unprofessionalism has been leaked by someone and my fans mean more to me than a stupid leak, so here it is free for you to enjoy, before my music drops," the former One Direction member tweeted.
In a mere matter of seconds, fans stormed the "Pillowtalk" star's website — where the track was presumably available for online streaming — causing the webpage to crash. For the time being, Malik's website is still experiencing a breakdown.
"Zayn, I’m sending an abundance of love to you! You are my brother, I am yours," the New Orleans-born artist tweeted in support of his co-collaborator. "I don’t know how this happened but WAY TO MAKE LEMONS INTO LEMONADE. (& a great batch, might I add) 😂😭🙏🏽 we do great work together."
Despite website difficulties, Zquaders have already managed to upload the remix to YouTube, and the response from fans has been nothing short of rollicking.
