World’s Largest Human Shamrock Attempted in Elmira

Over 1,200 people gathered over the weekend to try and break the Guinness World Record for the largest human shamrock.

We're they successful? Organizers are still waiting on official word on the record breaking attempt. The current record is 851 people dressed in green making the St. Patrick's Day symbol.

According to WBNG, organizers plan on making the shamrock an annual event an hope to get over 2,000 people next year.
