Michael Lang, who was one of the co-founders of the original Woodstock back in 1969, is celebrating the 50th Anniversary by holding a festival at Watkins Glen International Raceway. And this show is not to be confused with the 50th Anniversary celebration at Bethel Woods, the site of the original Woodstock. They will also be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the legendary festival on the same dates, August 16th through the 18th.

The bands that will be headlining the 3-day festival at Watkins Glen include The Killers, Chance the Rapper, and Imagine Dragons according to Billboard.

Additional acts that will play there that weekend will include The Grateful Dead offshoot called Dead and Company, and Santana.

Recently, there was a concern whether or not the festival out at Watkins Glen was even going to happen because of an article in Billboard concerning the festival's financial hurdles. But, according to Consequence of Sound, that has all been worked out and the festival will go on as planned.

They say there will not be any financial issues because Lang has secured the financial backing of a Japanese advertising company called Dentsu.

According to Consequence of Sound, there will be a full lineup announced in about two weeks or so featuring over 80 bands in total.

Meanwhile, Back at Bethel Woods, the site of the original Woodstock, their four-day event to commemorate the 50th anniversary will include Santana with the Doobie Brothers, Ringo Starr, and The Edgar Winter band, according to Consequences of Sound.

I know which one I would rather go see.
