One time I read that Kim Kardashian pays a woman $100,000 to be on call 24-7. She takes Kim's selfies and touches them up so they look perfect, before sending them back to Kim so they can be posted.

I need to find someone who can do that for me! But, of course, I don't have $100,00 to give them. I was recently reading a different article about how much time people actually spend taking selfies. It's shocking!

A new study by FeelUnique.com, found that young women take the most selfies. That isn't really surprising, however the amount of time they spend doing it is. The study revealed average woman between the ages of 16 and 25 spends five hours and 36 minutes a week taking selfies. That breaks down to 48 minutes each day!

Women said they take an average of three selfies a day, and they end up spending 16 minutes on each photo first to get ready for the picture and then putting on filters and touching it up.

Here are some more selfie stats:

  • 57% said they make sure they have good lighting before they take one
  • 46% fix their hair
  • 33% touch up their make up
  • 27% said they mostly take selfies when they look good and want to show off to friends
  • 22% said it's to get the attention of someone specific online
  • 18% said it just boosts their confidence
  • 15% said it's to make an ex jealous ( I actually am going to say this number is higher but no one wants to admit it!)
  • 27% also said they sometimes delete selfies after they post them because they didn't get enough likes.

Five and a half hours a week on selfies?! I don't think I spend five and a half minutes a week! My daughter on the other hand...

How do you rank according to this study?
