Senior forward Willie Rodriguez was honored prior to the opening tipoff of the Binghamton Bearcats game versus New Hampshire at Dr. Bai Lee Court on Saturday afternoon. With 11 rebounds in the Bearcats game at UMBC on Wednesday night the Bearcats standout senior established a new career rebounding record in Division I competition.  Nick Billings grabbed 598 rebounds during his Binghamton stay from 2001-05.  Heading into this week's action Rodriguez now has 610 rebounds.  He also leads all Binghamton Division I players in scoring for a career with 1,339 points.

The record-setting Rodriguez was presented a game ball at center court along with Head Men's Basketball Coach Tommy Dempsey and Director of Athletics Patrick Elliott. This season Rodriguez is averaging 10 points per game.

At 6'6" and 200 pounds the senior forward will look to add on to those records when he hits the hardwood this Wednesday night when the Bearcats host the Vermont Catamounts at 7 PM at the Events Center.  Air is set for 6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF..  It is a Weis Market Pack the House Night.
