Waverly Boy Dies During ATV Competition in Schuyler County

A Waverly second-grader is dead after crashing during a sanctioned All Terrain Vehicle race in Schuyler County over the weekend.

Counselors will be available in Waverly for students who knew 8-year-old Jagger Robert-Wright.

The child was riding in a New York Offroad Association event in the Town of Montour at around 10:50 a.m. May 19 when his vehicle hit a tree and he was ejected.

The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office reports the boy was taken to Schuyler Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation is continuing.
